English as a Second Language

What is English as a second language instruction?

English as a second language instruction focuses on grammar and promoting the development of functional English language skills in everyday settings. The teaching approach incorporates exercises that focus on listening comprehension, oral expression, writing skills, and/or reading comprehension. English as a second language teaching is client directed according to an individual's English language proficiency and needs. Exercises reflect realistic, typical language use that is relevant to the client's life and experiences. Individualized curriculum is designed to promote vocabulary development, improve grammar comprehension and usage, and increase overall English language abilities.
